A MMJ bill in Georgia moves one step closer to becoming a law.

The bill passed despite the vote being tight and did take a number of concessions to actually get through.

On a 7-2 vote, the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee backed legislation to allow distribution of the drug through up to 10 dispensaries statewide — down from 60 dispensaries previously — along with any pharmacies that might be willing to sell it. The revised bill would allow two growing licenses, a decrease from 10 initially proposed.

Senators didn’t want to have too many licenses in order to stop what they believed would become a large marijauana market in the state.

HB324, if passes, would allow patients access to low thc oil in the state who previously had no wya to buy it legally.
