MedMen must be giving out offers that people just can’t turn down. The cannabis marketing firm has already added Roc Nation co-founder Jay Brown. Now, the Cali based company can boast that another high-profile is joining the team.

Former Los Angels Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is the latest person to join MedMen’s board of directors.

Villaraigosa will be coming on after his loss in this past June’s Democratic gubernatorial primary.

Villaraigosa joins the likes of Brown and Stacey Hallerman, a former executive at the conglomerate that owns luxury brands Montblanc and Cartier.

MedMen spoke about the announcement in this press release:

Few people understand Los Angeles and our home state better than Mayor Villaraigosa,” Bierman said. “He will be instrumental in guiding MedMen’s expansion in the Golden State, and through his broad network, Mr. Villaraigosa will help MedMen solidify its presence across the country.”

Villaraigosa says he wants to use his political connections to help push social equity programs.
